If you’re looking for a “spirited” dining experience right here in Chennai, “Burgundy’s” is where you should head to… Live counters toss up pastas, swirl dosas, swish appams and whip up chaats with dexterity. Dominated by a contemporary décor this restaurant is bathed in streaming sunlight courtesy the sheer French windows. The buffet on offer is truly sumptuous! For those who prefer it, a la carte choices are also available. Variety is synonymous with Burgundy’s: from Italian, Indian and Continental to Mediterranean delicacies. There’s a well-stocked salad bar for those who love the crunch! I’d recommend the succulent kebabs, mezze platter, pumpkin filled cannelloni, chicken flavoured with lemongrass, BBQ spare ribs and smoked chicken with pesto. Hardcore desis can feast on methi chaman, fish curry, stew, bhindi jaipuri, shikampuri kebabs, butter chicken, daal makhani and more! For dessert I’d suggest you choose from the blushing berry trifle, sinful tiramisu, scoops of chilled gelato or mousse drizzled with fruity compote. What’s truly nice about Burgundy’s is the fact that it caters to every palate, offering foodies infinite choices in terms of dishes and cuisine. What makes it even more interesting as a dining choice is the fact that the menu at Burgundy’s keeps changing and evolving, so you’re in for more surprises every time you visit…

It was one of those rare occasions when we planned to go out and our teenage daughter, home from hostel, had the time to join us. As always, the prelude was a big discussion, which daughter took out of our hands and decided on Burgundy’s. We were impressed from the word ‘go’. The location is good, the ambiance is lovely. We loved the decor and the stained glass. The seating was really comfortable and made for a very relaxed and happy meal. We ordered the Sate with Chicken strips marinated in soy sauce, honey and red chillies. I think it had a small portion of the yummiest baked rice. The chicken itself was perfectly cooked… tender and succulent. We were being nice to each other and sharing, while secretly hoping the other would refuse Next was the Pizza baked with tomato or pesto sauces, mozzarella cheese, oregano and chilli flakes with chicken, onion and mushrooms. Now, my husband does not like onions and we requested them to avoid this. The thin crust was nice, but since I am partial to the normal crust, I was a tad let down. The blend of chicken and cheese was lovely. The pesto was divine. ( I would have liked a bit more chicken in the pizza though). Smoked chicken penne pasta with cream sauce, sun-dried tomatoes and button mushrooms… this was lovely. The blend of flavours, smoked chicken and the cream sauce was perfect. The penne pasta was cooked just right. The serving was very liberal. We just devoured the lot!! Now, the waiting staff was what I look for in restaurants…. Friendly, helpful, pleasant, discreet and very thoughtful. They were very gentle when laying out the dishes and didn't bend right over us to lay or clear the dishes and cutlery. This is something I miss in a lot of places in Chennai…. The staff is usually very “in-your-face” and a little rough when laying out the dishes. After all this, we really had no place for the dessert . The pricing is certainly high but worth it I would say. All in all, I would rate our dinner at Burgundy’s very high indeed.

Set amidst a very high class community, probably the most expensive area in the city, MRC Nagar, Santhome, Burgundy is at the ground level of the serviced apartments called Somerset, although a bit difficult to differentiate from the rest of high-rise apartment communities in the neighborhood. You can see through the glass walls as you drive in to the parking (available in the premises), few men in chef hats, waiters walking around busily and sometimes even the bartender working at his station. They have a small area where art exhibits are kept for the entertainment of the guests. There is a lovely open air al-fresco area in front with some water bodies to keep you company, definitely romantic to sit in, with really awesome breeze (the place being pretty close to the sea) and perfectly lit dinner tables. You also additionally get to enjoy the galore of contemporary apartments around you, if that interests you. on 22nd december evening my birthday celabration with my family & friends we enjoy a lot and tasted different variety of dishes indian , international food we are exited the wey your staff hospitality, keep it up vibin. So you get to see the antique mud pots that the food is displayed in for the buffet right from outside. You do have an a la carte menu but the buffet has almost anything you can possibly order on it, at a set price and a wise choice for most. The vegetarian dinner buffet (985 bucks net) starts with soup (vegetable broth) and starters (Mint Potatoes served with Mint Chutney (duh!), Katti Rolls and Wood-fire Oven Pizza) served at the table. The Pizza is one of the best in the city and a must-try, and it made up for the soup which in fact was disappointing when you have just stepped in and sunk in to the great ambiance. The Chocolate-Banana Smoothie is nothing to write home about.

Defenitley worth a second visit , right from the courteous staff , to the intricate preparations of the delicacies, this place deserves a recommendation to all foodies . The open Air theme along with the soothing gushes of the fountains adds to the perfect ambiance for a conversation. Kudos to Mr Vipin for adding his personal touch of warmth and comfort to guests , which all the more is reflected by his staff . Cheers

I visited Burgundy's on a Monday, to try something other than their buffet option. I was made aware that on Monday and Tuesday they do not have a buffet option, so I was looking forward to trying out something that I choose in particular. The weather was pleasant on a Monday night, so I sat out with a friend and enjoyed the sea breeze with a chilled beer to accompany us. It made for a lovely start as the beer was actually cold, the way it should be, and the seating outside with the fountains on made for a nice cool atmosphere, which for a while made me feel as though we were not in the Chennai heat and had magically moved to Bangalore instead. We chose the Shrimp Satay to start with, which was tasty with the peanut sauce, for my main course I had the Beef burger which was surprisingly very good and tender, my friend had the chicken penne pasta which was perfectly made, considering their sister brand is Tuscana. For dessert we shared the Creme Brûlée, which was a sweet end to the meal. It was a nice relaxed evening, as it wasn't crowded, noisy or hot. Definitely recommend it as it is a change from the usual Chennai hotel restaurants and is value for money considering the other expensive options in MRC area.

Yet another great evening with team CFG and it was again time to experience the hospitality of Vipin ,Ishika Sachdev and their team . Just my second visit to the place , must confess found Burgundy's a great destination for sinful indulgence of countless options - Asian, Indian , Western, Thai and fusion food -all in the vast dinner buffet ; It will be ideal to pick and choose few dishes of choice from the lavish spread and indulge elaborately , than try to master the whole spread, as one is likely to lose track of options ( given the lavish spread!) . A few items that deserve a special mention include the Lotus Stem Thai RedCurry, Oriental Fusion Kofta , Veg greek salad ( can never take Krptos away from you !) and Podi Kathrikai . Though the dessert counter was vast and tempting, there was no room for experiment . I hope to come back soon for another wonderful experience !!

Good spread , multi cuisine buffet !! It's really a good restaurant with nice ambiance and awesome food. Always been a big fan of their buffet. A La Carte is equally top notch. One of my restaurants to visit in Chennai.

It was Saturday evening and i was looking forward to an evening out. This evening i knew was going to be different, for it was going to be spend in the new swanky Burgundy's in Ascott Somerset, MRC Nagar, Chennai. As i walked in around 7.15, the place was alive with beautiful chandeliers and people buzzing about. Vipin Sachdev after the success of Subway and Tuscana and Kryptos has now launched this all day dining restaurant. Burgundy is an all-day multi-cuisine dining place. B-Bar, he claims will have one of the longest bar counters There is also going to be a new Chinese Restaurant in the building- The Jade Wok! The evening was filled with fun , food and music! There were people walking in, there were some trying to grab a Bakhlava or maybe a swiss roll. And then there were some scrambling to order a thin crust yummilicious Pizza.... I dont think i have seen this amount of food in a long time. There were dazzling plates filled with little treats -both Veg & Non-veg.. Apart from food, there were quite an array of juices passed around adeptly by the waiters. As the evening wore on, the place was getting packed with people vying for a bite from one of the unique platters. What an evening it was..

High Expectations! After hearing so much about Burgundy's for months now, all the great reviews and promotions and pictures, finally i get a chance to go there, n realized too much expectations can let u down. It is an awesome place to dine-in especially the outside seating, but the food was average, or at least didn't meet my expectation. The Pizza is one of the best in the city and a must-try, and it made up for the soup which in fact was disappointing when you have just stepped in and sunk in to the great ambiance. The Chocolate-Banana Smoothie is nothing to write home about. As in any good buffet, do not fill up on the starters (especially on the Pizza, although it might be too tempting to!), there is a great selection of salads (Greek, Okra, Pumpkin Salad and lot more with about three variety of sauces including a yummy Hummus) and the main course consists of Continental, Chinese, North and South Indian cuisine served on hot plate. Now be careful when you serve yourself, the hot plates are truly burning hot! The arrangement of the main course could be better, maybe cuisine-based, so it’s easier on us. The must-try’s are the Princess Bake, Sweet and Sour Vegetables, Roasted Potatoes, Pumpkin Fritters, Pulao and Aloo Jeera. They also have a live sandwich counter. The desserts are definitely the best part; don’t miss the soft Laddoos, Gulab Jamun, Caramel Tart, Mint Mousse and a few flavors of fresh cream cakes. Ice-cream is served on the table, choice is between, Strawberry and Passion Fruit, these are real fruit ice-cream, very flavorful. It is definitely worth a try, at least for the experience if not for the food. Expensive, of course, but provides a premium experience in a premium locality, guess that explains their costing. A place to pamper yourself on special occasions or simply when you want to pep up your mood for dinner!
