After some rave reviews online, and my yummy experience in CPK bangalore we decided to visit CPK. The interiors are average, Staff has no idea about the menu, knowledge of food (untrained) no smiling/ welcoming faces :( Bad experience. We decided to start with soup and it tasted as if it were two day old packet soup kept in the freezer and heated and served to use. After a good wait of 20min , we got our veg pizza, after we received the pizza we were shocked to notice that the menu had no correlation to the pizza we ordered. raw onions !! really ? (Please see picture below ) and a non veg was a diaster as well with no cheese and tasted extremely average. Kindly visit Darios, Tuscana and taste their pizzas After calling the manager he apologised and brought us another pizza after 20 min but it was no great...what a terrible experience.

The problem is with the perception of the name itself. This is NOT a pizzeria. I have tried my best to explain this in the post, but if you get past that, this is a nice place! The strawberry cheese cake is quite nice! http://http://www.chennaifoodie.com/2013/09/california-pizza-kitchen-chennai.html

The first impression of the place is very impressive The outdoor area and the ambiance inside, gives a kinda relaxing feel. The huge iced tea glasses and the table arrangement did for a minute take me to restaurants in the US and was very eager to try out the food. The place is super crowded for the premium pricing that they have. Loved the menu had a perfect assorted platter for starters when I was wondering if I want to order everything on the menu. It has a black bean quesadilla I have been missing since years now, but unfortunately it had no zest in it, not even cheese i think. The wonton wraps were too cheesy in contrast and the pita and hummus were okay. The fire roasted vegetables pizza was pretty good. Didnt quite like the CPK pizza even after adding pineapples to it, i dono why they decided to name it like a house specialty. The lemon soda was pretty good. Oh i forgot to mention the tortilla soup was unpalatable after the first sip. We decided to skip the desserts. The mocktails are average too. The manager did help us with ordering garlic bread and oil for our baby. Good service no complaints on that. Although, they messed up with the sandwich ((brought us mushroom instead of veggie), they had it replaced after we informed them. Overall, you can go here for the experience and to have a nice family time, if you want delicious food and value for money, definitely not the place to be!

It was Saturday evening when a friend- Av popped in Whatsapp and announced that CPK was opening the subsequent Monday. For those who are unaware, CPK is California Pizza Kitchen. The two times I have been to Phoenix I noticed the huge banner with a “coming soon” on it. After our Bangalore trip, I learnt that CPK serves alcohol and so maybe they were waiting for license [just as HRC has been waiting]. But alas., they have given up or not pursued the same, for they are open in Phoenix Market City, Velachery. So, coming back to the Saturday evening, this friend & I decided we will do Monday night dinner at CPK. Most others were tied up and we froze our plan. On Sunday evening, another friend announced she was at CPK and gave us feedback on the dishes and the place. Av who discovered they were opening on Monday was surprised they had opened on Sunday. But anyways, we stuck to our plan and Monday evening I was there in Phoenix around 7pm. Did some shopping at Big Bazaar and waited for Av to arrive. to read more, visit http://aromasofkitchens.blogspot.in/2013/08/california-pizza-kitchen.html

Was dying to visit this place in Chennai.IT was a bit difficult to locate, thankfully they have put signboards for directions. It was almost full as expected on a sunday.Greeted well at the door we were taken to a table.Ambiance is quite nice with wooden table and chairs. We ordered for a veg soup and a pizza with roasted veggies.Soup was good but what what was amazing was the pizza. The generous amount of veggies, the crust and the cheese.I have never seen the pizza fully covered, this pizza was covered with veggies. The vegetable were nicely roasted and had a nice flavour.A nine inch pizza was enough to fill our tummies so did not order any dessert. This place is definitely going to be visited a lot of times.
