Went to have a taste of 'the African Bird's Eye chilli' FINALLY after months of coaxing by my friend... the visit even elicited an "Ennadhu.. Gaandhi sethutaara?" comment from my close foodie! Nevermind.. always late than never! An awesome Portugese lunch and enjoyable moments later... here are my observations: 1. Nandos grilled chicken is a must try. but dont chicken out in choosing the hotness. Even the extra hot version is just mild for South Indians.. Either u get extra hot if u want to have a toned down version or get a hot version and do your own magic with the extra hot peri peri sauce. Crazy awesome stuff! caution: it might indeed make u dance, as they claim 2. Again, the chicken espetada rustica is a must have. if u skip this, its like going to Siva temple n not visiting Lord Ganesh. Juicy succulent n dripping in sauces.. i m not trying to describe it! 3. Dont ever go for a side called spicy rice. It sucked. Fries were good and veg salad was awesome. Heard later from friends that herbed rice n colesaw r the better sides there 4. IF u r going as a group of 4 (all of whom can eat well), you can definitely without hesitation, order a full peri peri grilled. 5. All mocktails were good. nothing really stands out unique to be mentioned 6. Foe dessert, had the soft chocolate cake even though I had food till my epiglottis... never mind.. there s always room for icecreams, brownies and cheese cakes! this chocolate cake was huge n decent, though not as mind blowing as the one we get in Sandys. and thus officially, I become a chennai food blogger too

Been there a couple of times. My first visit was when it had recently opened. We had gone in the afternoon on a weekday and were treated really well.Though known for its extra hot peri-peri sauce i prefer to go for lemon herb one and I quite like it.Have tried a lot of dishes here. The chicken is excellent. The dishes are quite outstanding. What my friend did not like was the wrap,it was quite chewy and got stuck all over in her mouth.I had ordered for a pita wrap which was ok not that bad like her wrap.Else the chicken and other dishes are quite excellent. They have some interesting drinks as well.

I heard of this place when they were about to launch, and there was a lot of talk about the Peri Peri chicken. Since i am a vegetarian, I ignored the thread but the franchise owner insisted they have quite a range of vegetarian fare. After a few weeks, while at Phoenix Mall with friends, we decided to head out to Nandos for lunch, mainly since the friend visiting from abroad wanted some meaty juicy food. We walked in, found a table near the entrance and got comfortable. I scanned through the menu, noticed that veg options were all around Paneer. Throwing caution to wind, I chose the Veg Espetada and for sides, i chose the corn on cob since a friend had already chosen the 3 bean salad and other chose the Mexican rice with her chicken breast. My dish arrived in style, it was a tall stand with a skewer and big chunks of paneer on it. The table had a range of Peri Peri sauces, and I had to slather the paneer with some of them to add some flavour. I ate maybe 2 pieces and I was about done. I wish the waiter had warned me the size of the dish and what it actually was [since it was my 1st time there and I had no clues what to expect]. The sides were delicious- I could eat just the corn and 3 bean salad as a main course and would have been very happy. The beverages were good, we ordered 3 different drinks, one common thread being they all had pomegranate syrup/concentrate in them. Paid the bill and walked out not too pleased.

Right from when I heard about Nandos opening its outlet in Phoenix Mall I was on my toes to find a chance to pay a visit there. I wanted to try those peri-peri spicy dishes and find out what made people go crazy about these dishes. Being a vegetarian certainly doesn’t help in such places. But I wanted to see what’s so special about this place and visited the place without much expectation. Partly because they seemed to be a Non-Veg specialty and from what I heard from my friends the menu for veggie like me is very limited! We were shown our table within minutes and given the menu card. The menu wasn’t very vegetarian friendly. I was with my fiancée, who is a big fan of paneer dishes. So, we ordered their Peri-Peri paneer kebabs. The dish came with 2 regular sides. We were given a choice of spice rice, coleslaw, fries, wedges and salad. We went for the coleslaw and fries and. We chose extra-hot spice for the dishes. The ambiance of the place was superb and the lighting was good. The table had their famous Peri-Peri sauce (Extra Hot, Hot, Medium and Garlic). We were served our orders within 15 minutes. The peri peri paneer kebabs had 2 skewers of grilled paneer (8 pieces) with vegetables. The coleslaw and fries serving were generous too. We started to dig in to the paneer with the sauces. The panner was juicy and tasted delicious with the extra-hot peri peri sauce! My Fiancée liked it very much. The veg grill seemed so less in quantity and was okay. They didn’t do justice to the price that we paid though. The fries were good with the spice powder they had in the table. I’m not sure if it’s some chilli mix! The coleslaw was made using their special Nando’s Mayonnaise which doesn't have egg in them. It was creamy and filling too. Overall a good experience but as many already said the choice is very very limited for a vegetarian. There doesn't seem to be any stand-out dish for us. But the paneer platter was worth the money that too with the regular sides that it comes with. To sum it up, it's a very spicy and bit pricey ;) Tip: Always go for the extra-hot peri peri sauce if you like the dish spicy. VFM – 3.5/5 Food – 3.5/5 Service - 4/5 Ambiance - 4/5

When ever I get a chance to visit Velacherry( a rare thing!) I make it a point to visit Nando's. The dishes are so tasty with their unique peri-peri sauces & a good dining ambiance & service. I have been trying different dishes every time I'm visiting & still many items in the menu are in my list of To - Try! Well every time I have been there,it was always a good experience! My last visit was a couple of days ago. This time i want to try Catapalana Algarve. This kind of a Combo with Rice,Chenna & Chicken cooked & served in a brass vessel. A complete meal by itself,so didn't order for any extras. I have stopped ordering for any drinks as i feel it kinda dilutes the whole spicy feel u get from the sauces!!! So ordered Catapalana with Hot Sauce. I felt the rice was kinda bland(c i'm a sucker for biriyani & this is not biriyani!)so added the extra hot peri-peri sauce kept in the table to make it alrite! The dish had good portion of succulent & tasty Chicken! A happy meal indeed. Bill came around approx.Rs.460.00 looking forward to my next Velacherry visit :P

Visited Nando's some 4 times in the last month itself. Good experience everytime. Hot Peri - Peri is the choice of sauce for me. In the sauces kept on the table I liked the Peri - Peri with wild herbs very much! Their Combos r really good. 3 bean salad is a must try.

It was my birthday and what better place to go than to one where my love for chicken comes true/alive. After a busy day at work & a rainy one too; family picked me up and we headed to Phoenix Market City. The 2 hour wait for dinner was worth it thanks to shopping by the women folk at RMKV Silks. We ordered for for Chicken Fillet Burger, Peri Peri Chicken & Chicken Esptada and the sides that came along were Potato Wedges, French Fries, 3 Bean Salad, Corn and Coleslaw. The whole family had a great time digging in into the different dishes. My personal favorite has to be the Peri Peri Chicken - the taste was awesome!! Healthier option of chicken too - cannot get better! The 3 dishes along with 2 bottomless Coke including Taxes came to Rs 1450/- for 4 persons. Works to Rs 360/- per person. Happy that Nandos is finally in Chennai!! YES..

Dinner at Nando's- Reached late At Nandos ( thanks to famed velachery traffic) Sorry Nishanth Radhakrishnan to have come late- Searched for the restaurant a bit as there were no directions from the parking ( mall not yet fully functional). We were welcomed at the entrance with a smile and seated... Saw Nishanthji, Ali ji, Kiranji, Fazilji, Guddji at a table... couldnt join them, as was late :( Ordered the full platter(1 whole chicken with 4 regular sides - fries and wedges), 2 Madeira Red ( pomegranate juice with soda), 1 chicken wrap, 1/4 chicken, 1 bottomless sprite (YES - Bottomless), 1 Chocolate cake, 1 Caramel cheese cake, 2 Vanilla Ice Cream with chocolate sauce... Chicken with Peri-Peri Sauce ( you can choose the amount of spiciness) was soft, juicy and obviously tasty, Madeira was a first time juice for everyone of us and was refreshing... The desserts were rich in flavor... Bill 2500/- for 4 of us (inclusive of ST & SC - real value for good food).... The service was top notch and food came faster than we expected them to be.... Apologies for the low picture quality..... Will be back there soon to try out the other specialties....
