have to be honest- i have only been to Choki dani in Jaipur, yet to visit the one in Chennai. But i did hear from friends that it was quite similar- in terms of concept, layout and food. But then you cannot compare the real thing to this right!! In jaipur, you walk around, watch local folk dance performance, there is a man sitting on a computer predicting your future, there are stores where you can shop local art products from and then there is the food. You sit down on a low wall/platform and get ready to dig in. you need a good apettite to do justice to this food else you are waste.! hehe.. They serve everything from roti, daal, ghatte ki sabzi, mirchi ka salan, makki roti, missi da roti, daal baati churma to just about everything else you can dream off. And then to finish off there comes the hot jilebis!! Total yumminess and you will walk away feeling sinful but happy!
