I dont know if its bella ciao or the sea ... this place is the most romantic place i have been in chennai (barring kefi in taj clubhouse!). It could be the seaside open air idea and of course italian food and wine! But the bella ciao that used to be there in nungambakkam (where u need to get into a cramped apartment to reach a terrace open air restaurant) also felt really romantic to me. Although I wouldnt say they serve the best Italian food or great wine (i went for their new year bash couple a yrs ago and the wine was tasting like diluted beer!) but definitely an awesome place and good enough food to spend time with your special someone. They also arrange small parties if you pls with a nice setting and food.

Bela Ciao is right by the Sea side. Visit there on any evening can be a very relaxing experiece. This place offers you al-fesco dining. Evening meals would be candle lit(lantern lit to be precise). This offers you a cozy touch to your dining experience ( remember the sea side and the light cool breeze). So now that we have established that interms of dining experience it is good what about the food? I think the food that we tasted was average.But to be fair to the place we did not try out a lot of the menu. Quantity was not flattering also. And yes remember outdoor dining in a green seaside place comes with some insects and mosquitoes. They do provide you with insect repellents though. So where can this place improve 1. Rethink the serving size for the price you charge 2. Take feedback on the taste-quotient of the food. I think there is room for improvement there.
