Ah, what an experience it was to see the waiter bring an entire grill unit and place it on the table. it was my birthday and i was there with 2 best friends and we were all set to enjoy the lunch!! Since most of us were vegetarians, the bbq items that came on the table were all veg, with just 1 for non veg. There was paneer, mushroom, assorted vegetables, potatos on the skewers. along with the bbq, there was a tray with multiple sauces that one could apply on these as they were cooking. The smell was a killer. We dug into them like we hadnt seen food before. Infact, with this and the drinks we were quite full. The concept here is only buffet, veg priced around Rs700 and nonveg close to Rs900 [it was 450 and 550 once upon a time]. After we were done with the main bbq items, we spent a bit of time walking around the buffet, found a few items interesting and tried them. Soon we were at the dessert counter and just took a nibble of the few that were there. It is a place that will have you enjoying the bbq, devouring it so much that you might even forget the buffet or that there is more food on offer!! Go with friends and have whale of a time.

Am sure nobody has ever heard of Shri Devi Park Hotel until BbqNation sprang up with this innovative concept which attracted the right crowd in the city ... so it became undeniably happening.. well that explains the pricing and the careless service. But it has managed to stay up there in its niche segment. Only wish they bought the waiters a mic and some confidence before they start work. The ambiance is quite different, of course the starters being grilled on the table is part of it! But seriously, the kebabs are already cooked and ur actual kidding urself tryin to burn it further on ur table! I felt like playing 'kitchen kitchen' when i was five! One of the restaurants in the city that serve very good selection of liquor. The bar menu was extensive and had everything from around the world, which is quite amazing for such a place. But be ready to spend a fortune if you want to have a good drink. They have some innovative cocktails, the masala margarita was good with chaat masala on the rim! NO! there is no complimentary drink with the buffet as falsely reviewed by many all over the internet! Vegetarians pretty much have nothing to EAT except some paneer skewers and Thai potatoes which they are famous for. Hence to do justice, i ve got the reviews from meat-eating friends too. The chicken (Singapore style) and the prawns were edible. The stuff that actually tasted good was the ones that were directly served on the plate, viz the crispy babycorn was sooooo yummy and the fish in oyster sauce was great too. Since we were advised to spend a lot of time with the starters, we were ready for more disappointment in the buffet. The buffet was just the usual. The veg biryani which was recommended wasn't there to be seen. There was the usual gravies, Chinese stuff, noodles, curd rice, etc. naan was served on the table and the dal was actually really good, compared to the bland taste of the rest. The desserts were average, esp the mini-jamun with ice cream and the butterscotch 'something'. Nothing else was worth remembering. Go there to have a overall nice time. And if you love to have a drink in a happening atmosphere with music and food.

New Year\\\'s nite dinner, Sans reservation to BBQ Nation Vadapalani. The guy outside the restaurant almost ruined my evening by making us wait for 40mins, but the tragedy ends there. The scene changes as soon as we walked inside. The place is infectious. Great Food, Great People (the waiters, were ever smiling and very polite). The course started with usual Veg Grills - Paneer Tikka Grill, Mixed Veg Kebbas, Pine-Apple Kebab (Mindblowing), Mushroom - Kebabs, and since we requested they got us a Potato+Gobi grill which was nice too. Their \\\"sides\\\" which they call were awesome too - \\\"Kaju+Aloo dumplings soaked in Spicy Mayo\\\" was surreal, - Paneer Vadai (this was very interesting). Accumulated enough calories for a year before I went ahead to the actual Buffett!! But what happened in between had all of the guests there to stand up. In vadapalani branch in Nights there is a live band and a DJ playing music, to surprise the guest, all the waiters lined up and we were wondering what was happening, The DJ all of a sudden started playing \\\"BLUE\\\" from the movie of the same name and these guys 8of them started to dance in the middle of the resto, all the guests got up and started cheering, the next song was \\\"Opam Gangnam Style\\\" which ROCKED the entire place. Since this was the first visit to Vadapalani branch me and my husband enjoyed thoroughly. The waiter guys were sooooooo good with their moves and it was quite a performance they put. The buffet is nothing to talk about (Thar Biriyani, Paneer Mutter Masala, Bindi Crips, Karela + Gobi Fry, White Rice, Sambar the usual stuff) for a veggie but desserts were fantastic, A butterscotch Souffle was out of the world (too small portion), Brownie, Vannila Ice Cream with Strawberry Jam and Butter Scotch with Choc sauce, Hot gulab jamuns to go with them!! Overall a fantastic exp and looking forward to go again. The bill part was a surprise to when we wanted to leave a tip, the guys said that \\\"Service Charge\\\" which was put on the bill is for tips and we don\\\'t need to pay anything sep. :) I\\\'d say if this is how they are doing business, they\\\'d go places!!! Veg Buffet - current prices (600/- plus \\\"service charge\\\" (tips -need not pay extra) + taxes as applicable Non Veg Buffet - Current prices (700/- plus \\\"service charge\\\" (tips -need not pay extra) + taxes as applicable)
